Nintendo of America has revealed the first concrete details for its WaveBird wireless GameCube controller.
The unit works with the GameCube up to a distance of 30 feet and uses radio signals to communicate with the console, via a unit that sits on the front in the controller port. It takes two AA batteries which provide over 100 hours of gameplay.
It was thought that a retail release for WaveBird wouldn’t be seen until early next year, but in a surprising move, Nintendo has drastically brought this forward to June of this year in the US, with Europe and Japan to follow shortly after.
