It looks like the PS3 edition of Minecraft will be getting a boxed retail release to go with its PlayStation Network release.
This comes via a NeoGAF user who posted an image apparently taken from a Sony email. The graphic says that the retail release will come on May 14th.
This would make a whole ton of sense. Despite Minecraft having been born into the world as a digital titles, the physical Xbox 360 edition of the game has been a mainstay in the UK charts since it was released way back in June last year.
Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game are also in the pipeline, and console developer 4J Studios has brought PS3 and Xbox 360 development of the game into line.
