SimplyGames PS4 Pricing a Problem Says UK Govt
The ongoing saga of UK retailer, SimplyGames, upping the cost of already pre-ordered PS4s by up to £65 has reached the overview of the Office of Fair Trading.

And the OFT is not at all happy with the affair stating that, "You can have a contract where the price agreed is the price at the time of delivery, such as a new car on a long waiting list. Here the seller cannot control the product price months down the line..."

An officer from the organisation that seeks, as it's name suggests, to ensure that the UK's consumer markets are not bent spoke to CVG and went as far as to say that, "It is illegal and up to the Home Authority to intervene if the seller is UK based. This is one of those occasions when swift injunctive action is needed to prevent consumers being ripped off."

I tried buying a Cullman Quick Release plate 2901 (fits on camera base to lock it onto tripod) from Extak.com and they advertise it with Free Shipping, however, when you go to purchase one, it adds a £4.80 shipping charge! It does the same to some other products advertised with Free Shipping!

Simplygames are trying to pull a fast one, and if the other artical is to be believed, people are letting them, no wounder we always get the short end of the stick, as a nation we need start complaining more.

It's 100% true i ordered my PS4 from them in June so how could they not have enough stock to give people like me who must have been first to pre order a ps4. I have all the emails and taped phone calls for trading standards to make a case against them. This all started on playstation blog when a few of us said we're going to do something about it and it has grown and caught the attention ofmajor news papers and online magazines and I'm so glad we didn't lay down and take it. Unfortunately some people panicked and paid up for them it's too late but hopefully simply games reputation has been damaged beyond repair for trying it on with the little guy's except the little guys fought back and what a victory this is for us little guy's. Let this be a lesson to any retailer who have got to big for their boots.
