The ongoing saga of UK retailer, SimplyGames, upping the cost of already pre-ordered PS4s by up to £65 has reached the overview of the Office of Fair Trading. And the OFT is not at all happy with the affair stating that, "You can have a contract where the price agreed is the price at the time of delivery, such as a new car on a long waiting list. Here the seller cannot control the product price months down the line..."
An officer from the organisation that seeks, as it's name suggests, to ensure that the UK's consumer markets are not bent spoke to
CVG and went as far as to say that, "It is illegal and up to the Home Authority to intervene if the seller is UK based. This is one of those occasions when swift injunctive action is needed to prevent consumers being ripped off."
