The crowdfunding for Mega Man spiritual successor Mighty No. 9 is over, with the project having destroyed its original $900K goal. The game's final Kickstarter total was $3,845,170, with a further $186,380 having been separately pledged to bring the overall total to $4m.Had the game sat at its $900k goal it would have been a PC game. The additional funding will allow for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U versions and, having passed more recent stretch goals, PS4, Xbox One, 3DS and PSVita ports.
Led by
Mega Man co-creator Keiji Inafune and developed at his company Comcept USA, the game is a sidescrolling action game in the 8/16bit vein.
Creeping past the $4m mark means that the final stretch goal to be reached is the inclusion of a two-person online multiplayer mode, in which gamers complete speed challenges against the ghost of a friend's game.
