Sony has released details of how to achieve this money saving marvel and thankfully it applies to both digital and boxed copies.

Says Sony, "When you buy the Blu-ray Disc or digital version of these select PS3 games, for a limited time, you will receive an entitlement to download a PS4 digital copy of the same game from PlayStation Store when it becomes available, at the discounted price of £9.99/€9.99 (or £11.99/€14.99 for NBA 2K14)." Here's how:

* Sign into your Sony Entertainment Network account on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 or our online store via PC and visit PlayStation Store. If you do not have a Sony Entertainment Network account, you can set one up via your PS3 or PS4, or by visiting eu.playstation.com/registration.

* Select "Redeem Codes" and enter the 12 character voucher code.

* Visit PlayStation Store on your PS4 system or our online store via PC and purchase the game at the discounted price.

* Before downloading, check that your PS3 disc is not inserted into your PS4 system as this may cause the game to malfunction.

It's great that Playstation has thought about the fans in this case. I like this move.
