Sony Bringing 3D Headset to PS4

Man, the £999 HMZ-T2 Personal 3D Viewer sounds sexy doesn't it? It's a "personal cinematic home entertainment experience". Sony is selling it and it intends to go further with the idea now that Oculus Rift is gaining such good word of mouth pre-release.

Sony's current kit has the looks if not the price... then again, we don't know how much Rift will come in at. Sure, it sounds like a bit of an admission from Sony that 3D TVs are a bit rubbish but...

The HMZ-T2 comes with, Twin OLED HD screens, cross-talk free 3D viewing, virtual 5.1 surround sound & adaptable headphones and enables you to "Play movies and games in High Definition 2D & 3D".

According to Eurogamer, however, "Amid the growing popularity of the Oculus Rift VR headset among the development community and a small number of gamers, Sony has been working on a rival device for its next-gen console, and it is on track to be revealed in 2014.

"Multiple sources have indicated to Eurogamer that Sony's VR headset will work similarly to Oculus'. Internally, the device has been demonstrated with Evolution Studios' PS4 racer DriveClub, with players able to look around the cockpit of a car."
