Final Fantasy XI Beta Testing Draws to a Close

Next Square RPG epic reported to be in good 'elf'.

SquareSoft has announced that the beta-testing sessions for Final Fantasy XI will be coming to an end on April 24. Square has said that it is happy with both the software and hardware implementation. Square also confirms its servers are up to the task and will be able to cope with expected traffic.

Lucky Japanese beta-testers will get the option to carry over one of their characters from the tests, giving them a weighty advantage within the game proper.

The game will be released in Japan on May 16 and, unsurprisingly for a SquareSoft game, nothing has been mentioned as to a European release.
