Pikmin 3 Outsells Competitors In Debut Week In Japan

Pikmin 3 took to the podium in its début weeks sales with over 90,000 copies purchased between July 8th and July 14th.

Not only did Pikmin 3 do well for itself, it also boosted the weekly hardware sales for the Wii U from 8,000 to 22,000 in the last week. A respectable rise, but still not a scratch on the 44,000 3DS units sold last week.

Yokai Watch took second place with a credible 53,654 units sold. Super Luigi U took its debut at number 5 with 24,881 and Riptide + MGS: The Legacy Collection battled it out with 18,462 and 17,599 according to the numbers from the Media Create Charts.
