You know those really annoying Facebook games? The ones that make you pay real life money at every turn? Well, it looks like the guys at Blizzard are trying to pull a similar trick. According to a recent post from senior community representative Jonathan Brown on the battle.net forums, Blizzard is looking into introducing in-game microtransactions to
World of Warcraft.
His post was triggered by the discovery of a spell on the public test server that rewards the user with double experience points, with a note referencing an apparent in-game store.
What he actually said was; "We are currently exploring the possibility of adding a way for players in certain regions to make purchases directly within the game. As part of this process, elements related to this will be appearing on the PTR. We'll provide additional updates on our plans as development progresses."
