XCOM: Enemy Unknown Comes to iOS This Week
Critically acclaimed sci-fi strategy game XCOM: Enemy Unknown has made the jump from console and PC to mobile devices, starting with a launch on iOS this Thursday.

You'll be able to pick up the iPhone and iPad version of the game, first announced in March, for $19.99, or £13.99 in GBP. Although that's more than what most mobile gamers expect to pay for their games, Firaxis and 2K has basically crammed the entirety of the original game into the iOS version.

Well, almost. 2K has admitted that the multiplayer mode does not feature in the iOS release, but will be added at a later date as a free update to the game. Still. A full console game in your phone. You're getting bang for your buck here.

As well as touch screen control optimisation, the iOS release (fit for iPhones 4S and 5, iPads 2 and up, iPad mini and 5th gen iPod Touch) features support for Apple's GameCenter as well as cloud functionality to enable the ability to play across multiple devices with one save file.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown was initially released on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC late 2012. It was launched on Mac in April 2013.
