So, a new Tomb Raider film is in production. MGM and GK Films are working on a silver-screen reboot of Lara Croft's daring adventures, and it seems that they already have someone in mind for the writing. Marti Noxon, the scribe behind Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Fright Night has been linked to the project.According to reports on Variety, it sounds like the movie reboot will take a grittier and more grounded tone than past films, in a similar vein to Crystal Dynamics' reset of the video game series.
Graham King will be developing and producing the film. He picked up the rights after Paramount, having made two films starring Angelina Jolie, let them expire.
There's no set date for completion of the project.
