E3 2013: Battlefield 4 Footage Not Xbox One After Conference Cock-Up

Battlelog HUD was the key.

EA and DICE have showcased a live demo for Battlefield 4 on Microsoft's stage... only it wasn't exactly running on an Xbox One console.

The game looks pretty incredible, with a myriad of particle effects lighting up environments and a number of jaw-dropping set pieces. Set on a battleship, a mission goes horribly wrong and your units must escape before they're dunked into the sea. There's even a military jet crashing about as you try to hot-foot it off the ship's deck.

It looked lovely, but an icon in the corner of the screen suggested that the game was in fact running on PC hardware. A backspace key can be seen which takes users back to the Battlelog. Unless a keyboard is part of Microsoft's new set of input options, the game isn't running on Xbox One.

There were some technical difficulties with the demo at first, so it's likely that an Xbox One version was about to run and the PC was a backup. Could actually be an Xbox One version but the HUD hadn't been changed to suit. Who knows?
