Capcom Vancouver has lifted the lid on Dead Rising 3 on Microsoft's E3 stage, which sports a new setting and a brand new protagonist. It's looking decidedly grittier than previous titles.
Set in Los Perditos, you control a chap called Nick Ramos. He's caught in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, and has to escape his dusty town to safety. Not before lopping off the heads of a veritable mass of undead first.
Alongside regular weapons you pick up off the field, you can also customise tools from hundreds of combinations. And SmartGlass integration will allow you to tackle hordes in new ways, apparently.
It's looking a little bit like an open-world Resident Evil, only without the Resident Evil branding. But then, wasn't Dead Rising always like that? Who knows?
