Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F Coming to Europe in August
SEGA has announced that it will be bringing Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F to the PlayStation 3 in Western territories in August. If you don't know who (or more appropriately, what) Hatsune Miku is... it's about time you find out.

Hatsune Miku has been a huge hit with Japanese gamers and otakus, and for very good reason. The character is a fictional anime singer, brought to life thanks to advanced voice-synthesising technology that allows companies like Yamaha to license out 'virtual singers' to musicians looking to create music. The result is an astonishing number of 'Project Diva' records, with Hatsune Miku being the most popular.

SEGA has had a lot of success in Japan with making arcade and portable rhythm music games starring Hatsune Miku, but today it has said that an overwhelming demand from a growing Western fanbase has resulted in the latest game, a PlayStation 3 and Vita exclusive, to come to Europe and the US. You can read our review of Project Diva Extend on PSP for more information.

The press release notes that the game will include "38 unique songs, including popular tracks like Tell Your World and Black★Rock Shooter. Players can create and share their own Miku videos in “Edit Mode”, and can customize the popular diva with over 90 different costumes and accessories. Being the first console game released for the franchise in the West, Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F will include all of the updated graphics, additional songs, and features of the Japanese version."

It will be made available in disc format and PlayStation Network in the US, and on PSN only in Europe. A demo will be released on PSN on June 12. Here's one of the tracks from the Japanese PS3 game.

Does this mean there won't be a western Vita release?
