Japanese Charts: Nintendo 3DS Dominates Top 10

Nintendo's 3DS is selling like hotcakes in Japan right now. And to think that just a few short months ago, the situation was very, very different. The plucky portable has dominated the country's domestic video game chart this week, taking five positions in the Top 10 - including the entire top 3.

Tomodachi Collection, the friend-gathering game, secures the #1 spot in the chart for the third week running, having sold a total of over 750,000 copies. It's followed by Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and Animal Crossing: New Leaf - the latter of which has sold an astonishing 3,175,398 copies since its Japanese release last November.

PlayStation 3 titles make up the majority of the rest of the Top 10, with Namco's drumming game Taiko no Tatsujin and SEGA's 7th Dragon 2020-II on PSP being the only exceptions. Full chart is below.
