Expecting The Witcher 3 to include an extensive multiplayer mode? Don't hold your breath - CD Projekt RED has ruled out any such feature, stating that multiplayer has "no place" in a "strongly story-driven game."
Said the studio's head of marketing, Michal Platkow-Gilewski, "We want to focus on the single-player experience, delivering more than 100 hours of truly immersive gameplay. Geralt can be only one [player].
"There's no place for multiplayer in so strongly a story-driven game as The Witcher 3," he added. The comments came as a Forbes article had claimed that the studio had dropped a planned multiplayer mode. While the developer had never formally confirmed any such feature, it did reveal in recent interviews that it was "thinking about something" in that area.
