Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein represents some of San Francisco. She dislikes gun violence. She even dislikes the over-availability of guns, yet even she has fallen into the trap of connecting video games to actual murder.Speaking in her home city this week she asked for game makers to make voluntary actions to avoid glorifying guns and violence following the Newtown elementary school massacre in December. She said:
"Video games play a very negative role for young people, and the industry ought to take note of that. If Sandy Hook doesn't do it, if the knowledge of these video games this young man played doesn't, then maybe we have to proceed, but that is in the future."
And she did not stop there, “If Sandy Hook doesn’t [make game publishers change] … then maybe we have to proceed, but that is in the future,” was her doom-laden call.
