Electronic Arts has released the first screens from its official World Cup game for Nintendo’s GameCube. As you might expect, the game is officially endorsed by the competition and FIFA and will contain all the biggest stars on the world stage.
EA is keen to point out the lifelike renders of the players, which will see Batistuta, Beckham, Ronaldo and co. look as realistic as they ever have in a videogame. The game will also feature 20 real-life stadia from Japan and Korea.
A new feature has been added to this FIFA outing to promote greater accessibility to video-football. Rather that having to arduously utilise your skill to pass and control the ball, EA has included an “air play” button that takes care of heading, volleying, scissor-kicking and juggling.
Expect to see the final game on sale in Spring of this year.
