Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that it will be releasing a bundle containing a PlayStation 2 console and a copy of Metal Gear Solid 2: The Sons of Liberty. The bundle will be available two weeks after the game is released on March 8.
"Metal Gear Solid was one of the games that defined console gaming," said David Patton, Vice President of Marketing at SCEE, "The demand for Metal Gear Solid 2 has been so overwhelming, that it was a fairly easy decision to produce a bundle. Metal Gear Solid 2 exploits the advanced features of the PlayStation 2 to stunning effect, and gamers in our PAL territories will find that it has been well worth the wait."
Unfortunately there will be no extra goodies in the bundle, though a commemorative box set is likely.
"Metal Gear Solid 2 is a true masterpiece," comments Kunio Neo, President of Konami of Europe. "Konami is proud to set a new benchmark for interactive gaming. Not only will the title be applauded by gamers worldwide, but it will also be recognised as a milestone achievement by onlookers from other sectors. The game should benefit the profile of the entire industry."
