This year hasn't been the most explosive so far, when it comes to game sales. The big release of the past week, Dead Space 3, has predictably claimed the #1 spot in the UK Video Game Chart, and recorded the biggest launch of 2013 to date. But, it did so having sold 26.6 per cent less than Dead Space 2 did in its first week on sale.

Chart Track reported that the Xbox 360 version of the space thriller accounted for the most sales, with 65 per cent. The PS3 accounted for 31 per cent and the PC version just four per cent. Read our review of Dead Space 3 right here.

The rest of the Top 10, incredibly, has not budged an inch - with two exceptions. Last week's #1, the enchanting RPG Ni No Kuni, slid down to #6, and SEGA's Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed leaps eight places to #10 following a successful launch of the Nintendo 3DS version.
