Sega of Japan has announced that it will be giving 13 Internet service providers content and systems, to enable the sale and distribution of games and PC applications to home users.

The move will see dedicated servers for downloading games and other apps, over high-speed and stable connections.

The 13 ISPs are: Kansai Multimedia Service Co., Japan Telecom Group, eAccess Ltd., NTT Broadband Initiative Inc., Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc, KMN Corp., KDDI Corp., Tokyo Telecommunication Network Co., Inc., Chugoku Information System Service, NEC Corp., Plala Networks Inc., Broadband Exchange Inc., and Usen Corp.

The move will also see users become able to virtually rent titles, by downloading them with a built in time limit.
