Bloomberg has reported that SquareSoft will make what has been described as a ‘significant’ announcement regarding Final Fantasy XI at the SCE PlayStation event, to be held in Tokyo on February 13.
It is expected that the company will delay the release of its debut MMORPG Final Fantasy XI to Q3 of this year, from its original place on the Spring release schedule.
This will give Square subsidiary PlayOnline more time to iron out any holes in the game system and will prevent the game conflicting with Square’s other imminent RPG Kingdom Hearts, which is due out in Japan in March.
