Derby-based developer Eurocom is set to be shaken and stirred as a report claims it will announce "wide-ranging redundancies" later today. While the studio isn't set to close,
GamesIndustry states that a number of layoffs are expected. How many, exactly? That's not yet clear, although hundreds of employees currently work for the studio. A statement is expected soon.
Eurocom was formed in 1988 and has been making games since the NES days. But, in recent years, its work has turned to ports and license-based games. Dead Space: Extraction and the Goldeneye 007 remake put its name in the spotlight.
But critical misfire
007 Legends is assumed to be a major setback for the company, along with
Harry Potter for Kinect, which released with nary a whimper in October.
