Someone's let the cat out of the bag! Former general manager of EA's Easy Studio, Ben Cousins, has let slip that DICE is working on a sequel to the cult first-person platformer Mirror's Edge.Cousins, who now works as manager of ngmoco Sweden, revealed the existence of
Mirror's Edge 2 on Twitter just after
EA Games VP Patrick Soderlund suggested that more games were in development at DICE than just
Battlefield.
"It is general knowledge in the Stockholm dev scene that
Mirror's Edge 2 is in production at DICE,"
reads the tweet. Let's see how long it takes before the post is suspiciously deleted from public view.
Might have been general knowledge for Cousins, but for the rest of us
Mirror's Edge 2 has been nothing more than the result of rumour and wishful thinking. We're waiting on a response from EA to clarify the comments made. Odds are that they don't respond, though.
