Atari's breakout hit, Transworld Surf for Xbox, wins Best Video Game award at the second annual X-Dance Action Sports Film and Video Game Festival.
X-Dance takes place every January, running concurrently with the Sundance Film Festival, and this year showcased more than 40 of 2001's top action sports films and video games.
Transworld Surf, developed by Angel Studios, won top honours over other industry heavyweights, including Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and Shaun Palmer's Pro Boarder!
Transworld Surf is due for release across Europe at the same time as Xbox, March 14. However, the game is no longer a Microsoft exclusive: Transworld Surf is heading to the PS2 too. No date has been confirmed as yet for the Sony version, but the smart money is on a release date at the earliest opportunity to capitalise on the recent pan-European scramble for the blue/black boxes.
