Good news! Danger Close is making its Multiplayer Beta for Medal of Honor: Warfighter available in early October. Bad news for PS3 owners! The Beta is exclusive to Xbox 360 players. Bizarre news! Gamers participating in the Beta will get the chance to unlock a music video from Linkin Park.
This sneak peek at the war game's multiplayer component will allow players to assume the role of one of 12 Tier 1 units ranging from the British SAS, German KSK, Russian Spetsnaz Alfa Group, Korean UDT and U.S. Navy SEALs. The idea is that you represent a country's special force and work hard to be the best in the whole world.
A new multiplayer mode called HotSpot will be introduced, which has players defending and attacking random locations on a map. The map in the Beta will be the Sarajevo Stadium in Bosnia. Those who take part will win themselves 60 minutes of Double XP time when the full game is released.
The Linkin Park single, Castle of Glass, will be published by EA five days after the Beta launches, but if you're super-eager to see the band you can help it get released early. For once the Beta is downloaded three million times, we'll all be subjected to it, no doubt causing an international breach of good taste guidelines.
