David Brevik on Marvel Heroes: Think Diablo III and World of Warcraft
David Brevik has made quite a name for himself over the years with Blizzard and Turbine, now given the chance to work some magic with Marvel superheroes, he's referencing those past lives.

In a wide ranging interview he has spoken to SPOnG about the franchise, how it will play out as an MMO and specifically how it references both Diablo III and World of Warcraft.

During the interview, he told us, "We're not going to have the same auction house system Diablo 3 has at all. The auction house stuff that Marvel Heroes will have will be much more similar to a traditional MMO.

"It will be more akin to World of Warcraft where you put something up in the auction house. We're going to have a lot of items that actually bind to your character so a lot of the best items you can't really sell them so that's our philosophy on the issue of item acquisition."

He was also asked, "Does MH have the same model of running through the same instance over and over?

He explained, "It's not like World of Warcraft where you're defeating the Lich King over and over again until he drops that one item. We're doing something that's much more similar to Diablo II where as you're playing it at any given time something excellent can drop."

binding items? thats not diablo
auction house? thats not diablo

now i am scared to see these items and affix pools

i wish i could talk to brevik in person, ive played diablo1/2/lod for 15 years now, i hate diablo 3, i would love to help make marvel heros more compelling, i fear it will be missing many of the aspects that made diablo compelling, i feel world of warcraft did many things wrong in terms of how diablo should work
