Former SEGA West head, Mike Hayes, has been appointed non-executive director of Caperfly, a new digital entertainment business aiming to deliver "high quality interactive titles to the iOS, Android and emerging Smart TV platforms".The new company, based in Leamington Spa, will also focus on media applications. It will be led by former Codemasters executive Gavin Chesire.
"This is a good time to be in this new vibrant sector of the industry," Hayes said. "I am positive we can take advantage of the next great wave of innovation and distribution here at Caperfly. I see Caperfly as a unique mix of talented individuals with aspirations to develop high-quality titles, and I relish the opportunity to be a part of their success."
Hayes was chief executive of Western operations at SEGA for eight years. He was strongly involved in the SEGA UK acquisitions of Sports Interactive and Creative Assembly.
He left his post earlier in the summer but has remained on the board in an advisory role.
