GT Concept straight in at number 1 in Japan

Green light for GT Concept US and Europe?

In news that you may or may not find surprising, Gran Turismo Concept 2001 Tokyo, the shrunk-down GT3 offspring featuring concept cars from Japan’s leading auto manufacturers, has entered the Japanese all-format charts at number one, shifting just under 200,000 units in its first week on sale.

SCE was not entirely sure as to whether or not the gaming public would welcome cut-down gaming and GT Concept was an attempt to test the water for the viability of such products. This could be seen within the hints from Sony officials that the company might just be in the process of talking to Europe and America’s car makers to create similar games for the territories.

We would put our year’s salary on the fact that SCE will be making GT Concept announcements soon.

In other news, Marvelous Entertainment’s King of Fighters EX Neo Blood has soared in the Japanese charts, selling over 202,000 copies in the first two weeks on sale, making it the fastest selling KOF game of all time.
