USA: June Video Game Sales Down Again
There is a global economic downturn/crisis/cashpocalypse that's for sure. That is certainly a big reason underpinning the 29% fall year on year in US video game (and related products) sales but could the fact that AAA games are dull, and digital sales are eating into retail also have something to do with it?

NPD has released its figures for June and no one is smiling. Bloomberg reports that:

"U.S. sales of video-game hardware, software and accessories tumbled 29 percent in June to $699.8 million from a year earlier, researcher NPD Group Inc. said today.

"Retail sales totaled $989.5 million a year ago, when more game releases buoyed sales, NPD, a research firm in Port Washington, New York, said in an e-mailed statement."

Surely we were in a cashpocalypse this time last year too?
