Sony's oddball animal fighting adventure game, Tokyo Jungle, has claimed the top spot of the Japanese Video Game Software Chart, shifting an impressive 110,309 units in its first week of sale and supporting a slight increase in PlayStation 3 hardware sales.
Previous week's #1, Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D, slips to second place while Dragon's Dogma holds on to #4. Two other new entries pepper the Top 10 this week - D3's Storm Lover Kai!! for PSP, and a new Gundam game for PlayStation Vita. The latter has helped give Sony's new handheld a much-needed shot in the arm, with the platform selling over 15,000 units this week.
The rest of the chart - both in hardware and software - is very much Nintendo-dominated, with Mario's face seemingly on EVERYTHING. Full Top 10 below. Chart courtesy Media Create.
