E3 2012: Assassin's Creed III Liberation Announced for Vita
Crystal White Vita bundle pack planned.
Assassin's Creed is coming to the PlayStation Vita in a big way. SCEA president Jack Tretton announced that Ubisoft is working on an entirely new episode of the Assassin's Creed III story for the multi-touch handheld, titled Liberation - complete with the series' first ever female Assassin.
Tretton revealed that the game is being built from the ground up for the Vita hardware, with touch screen controls as well as functionality for front and rear cameras. Near functionality will allow players to trade good between one another, and cross-connectivity with Assassin's Creed III on the PS3 will allow console owners to unlock a new Tomahawk weapon, an exclusive character, multiplayer bonuses and an ammo upgrade.
In a move that will also likely improve the Vita's sales fortunes in the West, Sony will also be launching an Assassin's Creed III: Liberation Vita bundle pack, which will include the game, a 4GB memory card and a Crystal White WiFi PS Vita system. Both the game and the bundle will be released on 30 October.
