Nintendo has announced that Mario Party 4 has gone into production for its GameCube console. The news has surprised many, given the poor performance of MP2 and 3 for Nintendo 64 in comparison to the massive success the first instalment enjoyed.
The GameCube title will be developed by multi-player uber-coder Hudson, the creator of the earlier games in the series.
Mario Party 4 cropped up on a poster at a Nintendo press conference earlier this week and was instantly seized upon by the assembled press. Nintendo has confirmed that MP4 will be a mini-game-based affair, and has hinted at GBA link-up features.
