Microsoft has apologised to a whole bunch of HDTV-less Xbox 360 owners who couldn't play Minecraft in splitscreen, and offered refunds to those affected.
It seems that the company forgot to explain in the XBLA game's description that splitscreen would only work on consoles hooked up to an HDTV - which sparked a flurry of complaints online when many SDTV users found the game didn't work the way they expected it to.
"We updated our pre-sale notification to inform customers that an HD screen is required for the split-screen multiplayer feature on Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition," a spokesperson said. "If a player does not have an HD screen and purchased this game prior to the notification update, they are eligible for a full refund through customer support."
So there you are. If you've been affected, you're able to get your money back. Sorted.
