Nintendo: Fathers Day is Excuse for Hardware Price Cuts

"With graduations looming, Father's Day approaching and the start of the summer travel season imminent, the new suggested retail prices appeal to all kinds of shoppers," so says Nintendo in the USA regarding price cuts to its remaining stocks of the DSi and DSi XL.

Currently retailing at $149 for the DSi and $169 for the DSi XL, Ninty in the States has released the following information regarding a May 20th price cut.

"The suggested retail price for the larger Nintendo DSi XL will be $129.99 and the suggested retail price for Nintendo DSi will be $99.99."

Those are quite substantial price cuts for a company that is, right now, struggling to make an impact as it waits for the Wii U release.

There is no detail on European pricing as yet.
