505 Games and Mastertronic score a big win this week with the debut of Sniper Elite V2 storming the UK Video Game Chart and comfortably taking the top spot. It knocks previous week's #1, [PROTOTYPE 2], down a place in a Top 10 that's otherwise dominated by EA games. The original
Sniper Elite was released in 2005 by Ubisoft, but has had a bit more success under the guiding hand of 505 Games and Mastertronic. Despite the publisher change, original UK studio Rebellion remained the developer of the sequel.
[PROTOTYPE 2]'s shift downwards represents a -63% drop in sales.
You'll need to look a bit further down the UK Chart to find the only other new release this week: Warner Bros.'
Mortal Kombat for PlayStation Vita. While it hit #1 in the Vita-specific chart, in the all-formats it fared a lot worse, managing a debut position of #33.
