Valve cleaned up at last night's GAME British Academy Video Game Awards, with gamer's favourite Portal 2 winning three BAFTAs for best Design, Story and the top gong - best Game of the year.
Battlefield 3 was another big winner at the event, clocking in two accolades for the Online - Multiplayer and Audio Achievement categories. EA's modern shooter also took home the public-voted GAME Award of 2011 - signalling a possible changing of the guard from Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare franchise.
There were some surprises throughout the night as well. Rare's Kinect Sports 2 took the BAFTA for the Sports/Fitness category, but perhaps the most eyebrow-raising moment was when the developer came to collect the award and yelled into the microphone, "Rare's back baby, woo!" Um. In other surprising news, Peggle HD won the BAFTA for Mobile and Handheld.
