Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) is to tempt indie game developers to come and make titles for the PlayStation Vita with what its "Pub Fund" system.Indie devs behind games such as
Explodemon and
Burn Zombie Burn have already made us of the system that
Develop describes as, "a Sony initiative to match the development costs of a game project in return for exclusivity."
Speaking at GCD, Ted Regulski, manager of SCEA Developer Relations, said of the scheme that it makes Sony "the only major console publisher to allow self-publishing. There are others but they have publishing rules that aren’t much fun and there are no weird limits you have to hit in order for us to pay you”.
Tellingly, he also explained that, Sony via PSN offers are more attractive royalty rate than either Nintendo and Microsoft.
