Sega Europe has announced that the Dreamcast console will now retail for a shamefully cheap £69.99 with immediate effect. The machine, along with Yu Suzuki’s Virtua Fighter 3 or Jet Set Radio, will start its Christmas push today, alongside the £99.99 Dreamcast “Ultimate Pack” that contains four games, an extra pad and a VMU.
"By initiating this lower price point for the Dreamcast we are able to offer consumers superb value for money this forthcoming Christmas Season,” said Sega’s Alison Collins. “For £69.99, consumers will be able to experience the world's first next generation online gaming console plus a best selling Sega title. The only thing that betters this for value for money in the current console market is our 'Ultimate Dreamcast Pack' which will still be available in all stores at £99.99."
At these prices, the Dreamcast, thought by some as the best machine ever released, is now surely a must-have for any serious gamer.
