With PlayStation Vita launching in the UK last week amid much noise and 'the biggest marketing budget ever', it's no surprise to see two Vita titles topping the Chart Track All Formats and All Prices chart. Given the state of the economy and the amount of disposable income available, it is good news though.According to Chart Track, a massive but not all-conquering slab of Vita software sales (31% in fact) were taken by
Golden Abyss. The #2 spot - and the second Vita title,
FIFA Football made up 18% of the handheld's software sales. Ubisoft's Rayman IP was also helped by Vita with the Vita release seeing Origins shoot up the charts 31 places to #7.
All of these sales, it must be borne in mind, are boxed-copies as well. The fact that a mainstay of the Vita proposition is digital downloading also indicates greater sales volumes.
Away from Vita, one thing we're all a little surprised about, however, is that SEGA's Binary Domain (
reviewed here) could only stumbled to #35.
