Ex-AMD Employees Confirm New Sony PlayStation
Forbes lets slip AMD not nVidia support
According to Forbes magazine's latest edition, one thing that chip-maker AMD's new CEO Rory Read must do is to, "make sure AMD doesn’t screw up its slate of new products - which includes a hush-hush effort to put its graphics chips in Sony’s still-unannounced new game console..."
That's how they story of what will be called by people in the press like us, "The PlayStaton 4" slipped out.
Forbes realised its apparent scoop and followed up with another story that states:
"Sony is working on an as-yet-unannounced new gaming console, former AMD employees say, and the processor designer may play a key role in the new product.
"AMD’s graphics technology is already used in Microsoft’s XBox 360 console. However, Sony’s PlayStation 3 — introduced in 2006 — relies on graphics technology from Nvidia."

I bet were looking at the AMD APU's with CPU and GPU on a chip, but also gives super fast access to the memory.
