Superannuation discovered a YouTube video posted yesterday, which promotes a downloadable demo for the game. Codemasters licensed the Cannon Fodder IP to unknown Russian developer GFI but decided to distance itself from the project, stating that the British firm had no involvement in the 'sequel' and that it would only be for release in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Now we can see why. Watch it and see. The problem now, is that should Codies want to revive the franchise properly in the future and put some effort into it, what could it name it?
Eeek. "Shockingly bad" is a bit harsh. It doesn't look terrible, and I could see it being somewhat fun to play. I guess the beef is that it's had a charmectomy and it's simply not The Cannon Fodder.

I think that looks alright. Yeah, as config says it doesn't look like Cannon Fodder, but it looks like the gameplay's there. There were a couple of nice bits as well, such as the submarines.
Harsh writeup.
