Yep, Aliens: Colonial Marines is delayed again. It was slated for a release this Spring, but SEGA has confirmed that it will now launch some time in the Autumn. According to a statement, developer Gearbox Software needs more time to finish things and tighten a few bolts.
"Aliens: Colonial Marines is a process of creativity and invention and those don't necessarily follow the structure of an assembly line. While setting clear goals, deadlines and predictions is helpful, they are often subjective," reads the SEGA statement.
"We don't want to sacrifice the creative process just for the sake of following a blue print. We prefer to have the creative discovery shape that blue print because our goal is to make a great game, and we are prioritising this goal over the previously targeted date."
SEGA has to win an award for the most patient publisher in the world - the game was first announced way back in 2006! What has Gearbox been doing, exactly? Well, that's the million dollar question really. The studio is juggling development of Borderlands 2 and Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 alongside this. Let's hope this is the last delay that ACM will see.
