Nintendo in the UK has seen a real changing of the old guard in its UK marketing operations, first long-time face of PR, Rob Saunders left the company and today, Dawn Paine, Nintendo UK’s assistant general manager and marketing director is leaving.MCV reports that, Dawn is "to leave Nintendo UK after ten years to join Universal Pictures... Her last day will be on February 24th. She starts at Universal as VP or marketing on march 5th."
In terms of structure, "General manager David Yarnton will now oversee the marketing team. Senior managers Rob Lowe, James Honeywell and Jo Bartlett will report directly to him."
The fact that Nintendo - despite replacing Saunders with
Jo Bartlett in December - is not seeking to replace Dawn Paine but will instead heap more work on David Yarnton's shoulders, indicates a certain reticence to spend on behalf of HQ.
We wish Dawn Paine the very best of luck!
