Ubisoft on Anno DRM - It's Fine
DRM - Digital Rights (bloody) Management - it's got a vague chance to be overlooked what with all this SOPA and PIPA insanity currently doing rounds. But we've always got Ubisoft's continued use with things like Anno 2070. Now the French company has dealt with criticisms.

RPS has discovered that something as, "simple as changing your graphics card could use up an activation on Ubisoft game, Anno 2070."

Surely a bug. Not according to Ubisoft.

“While it’s correct that copies of Anno include three activations and that changing hardware may trigger the need for reactivation, the vast majority of Anno customers never encounter this scenario. On the rare occasion when a customer does need additional activations, Ubisoft customer service is available to quickly resolve the situation, and we encourage those customers to contact us directly so that we can ensure they are able to continue to enjoy their game.”

Aghast doesn't cover it.

@ghoti exactly, eventually someone will have to walk by who's smart enough to notice that they're actually hurting themselves.

What's wrong with this? 3 activations and call for more if there's an issue. Sounds like a minor inconvenice at most, compared to the vast amount of piracy that they're trying to combat.
