The USA's Entertainment Software Association's support for the incredibly flawed Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect IP Act (PIPA), both of which will affect the entire planet, has lead to gamers and some sites threating to boycott E3 this year.
First up, here's what the ESA - whose job it is to protect its content-providing members - has to say:
"As an industry of innovators and creators, we understand the importance of both technological innovation and content protection, and do not believe the two are mutually exclusive.
“Rogue websites -- those singularly devoted to profiting from their blatant illegal piracy -- restrict demand for legitimate video game products and services, thereby costing jobs.
"Our industry needs effective remedies to address this specific problem, and we support the House and Senate proposals to achieve this objective. We are mindful of concerns raised about a negative impact on innovation. We look forward to working with the House and Senate, and all interested parties, to find the right balance and define useful remedies to combat willful wrongdoers that do not impede lawful product and business model innovation."
See the video at the bottom of this piece for a response from Screwattack among others setting out. It's less than agreeable to the ESA's standpoint. And remember that it's the ESA runs E3.

Piracy is bad. People should pay for their software... otherwise it just won't get made. But SOPA is worse.
And on the other hand, some Hollywood movies are so bad they do not deserve to cost money. Ad most of the music recorded. I mean, those idiot off X-Factor, they got to be on TV< their music should be free. Or better still - not recorded at all.
