Sony's Executive Deputy President - and the man most likely to succeed to Sir Howard Stringer's role as big chief, Kazuo Hirai, has apparently laid the ghost of an idea that the PlayStation 4 will appear at E3 this summer.Speaking at a roundtable at CES this week, he laid out the basics:
“Andy (House - President and Group Chief Executive Officer, Sony Computer Entertainment) is absolutely right in that we are not making any announcements at E3.
"I’ve always said a 10-year life cycle for PS3, and there is no reason to go away from that.”
According to
MCV, Mr Hirai is, "...seemingly referencing the quote from House, made late last year prior to our story but posted by
CVG as a spoiler on Monday which reads "I don’t think we’re contemplating talking about anything to do with future console iterations at this point."
Given that Sony has a great deal resting on the success of the Vita this year, it makes sense not to break up the brand message.
