Hey, the Nintendo DS had a redesign a year and a half after the launch of the original model. That means that the same will happen for the 3DS, right? Well, that's the chatter being spewed from Japanese magazine Nikkei Trendy, anyway.Based on absolutely no reports or sources, the publication took a swing and speculated that Nintendo will launch a thinner '3DS Lite' later in the year to mirror the success of its predecessor.
It reckons that this will happen in 'Spring,' adding that "there's a possibility for a lighter version that addresses the handheld's weak points, the thickness and the battery life."
As always, take the information with a pinch of salt - Nintendo has previously said that it flat-out won't be planning to make a 'Lite' revision of the 3DS, and any such announcement could rile up gamers who happily received the device for Christmas.
You know what though, I'd happily take a 3DS Lite, just so I don't have to see that ridiculous Circle Pad Pro ever again.
