EA is sending a golden nugget out to all PC Gamers today, by releasing a free 20 minute demo.
The Sims 3 allows you to create millions of unique Sims (Virtual People) and customise everything about them, including their personalities, appearances and even sculpting events around their lives. With this simplistic God-Complex gameplay mechanic, EA has managed to build a franchise which already spans a large number of systems and is indentifiable to the mass market.
The Sims 3 Teaser also includes content from additional The Sims 3 packages which include The Sims 3 World Adventures, The Sims 3 Ambitions, The Sims 3 Late Night, The Sims 3 Generations, The Sims 3 High-End Loft Stuff and The Sims 3 Fast Lane Stuff. You can select a male or female character from one of three distinct backgrounds; Geek, Gothic and Trailer Trash. You don't get to do much customising of them in the demo, but you do get to travel around a surprisingly large area, including a Science Centre, a bright and colourful movie studio, a Vampire nightclub and several more. Depending on the character you choose, you will see a different starting home, and you will eventually be kicked out of it to push the Teaser Demo along faster.
The demo is downloadable from The Sims website through EA's Origin downloader, and plays in Stereoscopic 3D for the minority of gamers who have that feature available. If you were considering buying The Sims 3 but didn't know if it would be your cup of tea, there's no better time to get gaming than today. Though you don't have to be as trashy as we were, kissing all the girls and offending all the boys, it does give you a surprising amount of narcissistic joy.

20 minutes does seem a little on the short side.
