Capcom: Raccoon City Sales Downgrade Due to Release Delay
Capcom has gone and downgraded its sales projections for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City by half a million unit. But don't panic! It has nothing to do with the fact that the publisher is worried about its performance at retail. Honest.

The reason instead, according to a statement on the company's European blog, is simply due to the new release date. Six months ago it was planned for a Winter 2011 release with 2.5 million sales expected. Last week, a financial report pegged sales at two million and a release date "closer to the end of the fiscal [year]." So March, then.

"Last week Capcom Japan announced that the forecast for RE ORC was being reduced from 2.5 million to two million," reads the statement by Capcom Investor Relations.

"To clarify this is not because there is a lack of confidence in the title, but because the release date has moved from the previously stated winter 2011 to closer to the end of the fiscal with two million being the number of copies we expect to ship before the end of the fiscal."

Well that clears things up. Good to know.
